The truth about life in the Universe.

or about living is probaby just two very different attitudes.

One, we’re all born to die, and it’s something we all have to do at some point. It’s real, but it’s hardly the entire point of having lived at all.

Second, life is the unbelievably poetic reality that pieces of matter can eventually develop thoughts and a consciousness all of their own. As sentient and advanced Life, we actually have the abilities to sit back and examine ourselves, marvel at our majesty and easily pretend to skip over the faults.

Lest we lose ourselves in all our splendor, I have to say that I feel like we’re not the most intellectually advanced mammal on Earth, but our unique physiological evolution combined with our society and social organization (plus, we’re on land - not the ocean, stupid mammals) created this lovely dystopia that we could be approaching more and more on a slow descent toward destruction.

Magnus Gjoen

Magnus Gjoen’s prints examine how to change peoples relationship and preconceived notions of objects. Something which is potentially extremely destructive can be made into beautiful yet fragile objects of art. It’s this misconception of beauty which Magnus Gjoen wants us to see in a different light, being it weapons, animals or the human race itself. The latter which is capable of creating immense beauty but also capable of destroying it all. Taking inspiration from street and pop art and juxtapositioning it with fine art, he creates new and modern takes on old masterpieces or manipulates something powerful and strong into something fragile but beautiful. He often questions the correlation between religion, war, beauty & destruction in his art. Magnus Gjoen was born in London to Norwegian parents and studied design in London and Milan and works as a designer/graphic designer for Vivienne Westwood. (via)

This morning at 3am I hopped in the rental and drove to the top of Haleakala - The summit of the now inactive volcano that Maui is made of. At 10,000 ft in the air it’s higher than many of the clouds that cover Maui. What. A. View.

This is so beautiful. Maui is one of the most beautiful places on our entire beautiful planet.

This UFO Crash Picture is curious. Is it real? Is this what a UFO looks like? Is this a hoax or is it truly a crashed flying saucer?
